The local MP has repeatedly called on the government to find a sponsor to rescue the school which was first plunged into uncertainty in June 2016. Despite promising to do so, and reports of a viable offer from a sponsor to take it over, the Department for Education have dragged their feet for 10 months and treated pupils, parents, teachers, staff and the local community with complete contempt.

Today, Prime Minister May has triggered Article 50 signalling the start of a 2 year period to negotiate the UKs exit from the European Union. I have said many times since the Referendum in June last year that we must accept the outcome of the vote but it is now more important than ever to watch the government closely and it is my job to stand up for the interests of people living in my constituency.

Local MP, Steve McCabe is preparing to take part in a daring tandem skydive for charity.

Steve will be making the 15,000ft jump at the end of April, luckily he’ll be securely attached to a professional. Steve is hoping to raise as much money as possible for Acorns Children's Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
