Hundreds of Selly Oak constituents back local MP calling for urgent review of the National Funding Formula for schools which will see Birmingham lose £20million

Steve McCabe MP is asking the Government why there is no money to save Baverstock Academy in Druids Heath despite announcing that over £320 million worth of funding will be available for new grammar schools in the budget.

The announcement was made ahead of tomorrow's budget where the Chancellor is expected to confirm funding of £320million for new free and grammar schools and £216million to refurbish existing schools.

Selly Oak MP, Steve McCabe joined staff, volunteers and service users from leading deafblind charity Sense for a mass walk through Selly Oak along the Birmingham and Worcester canal. The sensory walk was organised to raise awareness of TouchBase Pears, a major new community centre for the area that will open in the summer.

The pioneering new centre will combine specialist support for people with sensory impairments and complex needs, with services that will benefit the whole community.

Steve McCabe MP, Birmingham Selly Oak, and Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs have joined forces to ‘Make Every Daffodil Count’this March and help Marie Curie provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness.
