The Chancellor has sold 5.4% of the government’s stake in RBS raising £2.1billion, a third below the price paid.


The UK bailed out RBS in 2008 and 2009 by buying shares for £45billion, but Osborne has sold the share at well below the price the government paid for them meaning an estimated loss to the taxpayer of at least £1 billion.


According to figures from the Department for Work and Pensions, 4.1% of people in Billesley are claiming Jobs Seeker’s Allowance, this is almost double the national average. So while the economy is slowly recovering the benefits are yet to reach Birmingham. Steve McCabe and local councillors want action to increase employment options in Billesley.

Pupils attended a special workshop run by local technology education specialists ComputerXplorers where children learnt how to design and programme their own computer game. The initiative is part of raising awareness of the new computing curriculum for Primary Schools being rolled out in September 2014.


The application states that the site which has been chosen is the junction of Heath Road and Selly Oak Road (Bournville Ward). However I discovered that pavement markings have already been painted at the location by council workmen and I asked the council why they are preparing for work to begin without approval.
