Steve McCabe MP recently met with The Royal British Legion’s local Area Manager Ian Barber at their Birmingham Pop-in Centre to discuss support for the Armed Forces community.

Steve McCabe MP has expressed his shock after learning that its back to square one for Katie Road Walk-in Centre after years of uncertainty.

After nearly three years of back and forth with Birmingham CrossCity Clinical Commissioning Group, a ‘pre-consultation’ and numerous meetings with local residents, Steve was astonished to learn that the future of Katie Road Walk-in Centre is still undecided and a further consultation is planned.

Steve McCabe MP is urging residents to give safely to charities this Christmas by remembering the ‘Safe Xmas’ acronym developed by charity regulators; the Charity Commission and the Fundraising Standards Board.

Steve McCabe MP is advising constituents to know their rights when it comes to being confronted with unreasonable bailiffs and warns that bailiffs are not permitted to visit people’s homes on Christmas Day.

Steve has made it clear that people should know their rights and not be intimidated by bailiffs who aren’t following their code of conduct.

Steve McCabe MP is inviting designated drivers to claim their reward for keeping the roads safe this Christmas.

Coca-Cola has launched its Christmas Designated Driver Campaign which rewards consumers who are driving to the pub this Christmas with a free soft drink.

Now in its eighth year, the festive campaign was launched at a reception in the House of Parliament at the start of December, and aims to encourage consumers to take a socially responsible approach to drinking over the festive period.

Steve McCabe MP has joined with campaigners to raise awareness of electrical risk among older adults and to encourage their friends and family to help check for electrical danger.

Steve McCabe MP is backing local independent businesses across his constituency to celebrate their contribution to Selly Oak as part of this year’s Small Business Saturday on December 5th.

Steve McCabe MP for Birmingham, Selly Oak, is supporting international Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week (1-7 December). The week long campaign aims to highlight the impact of living with Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis, the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) which affect more than 300,000 people across the UK.

Earlier this year Steve McCabe MP met with local residents to discuss their concerns about road safety on Gibbins Road and the Council have now confirmed that they are carrying out a public consultation.
